I want to… but I don’t, I must… so I will! *Sigh*
The short version…
We have six, adorable, cute, happy, playful seven eight week old puppies, that I have fallen in love with, despite trying my best not to… because now we have to find homes for them, and it’s so heart breaking to say good-bye. They are German Shepherd cross black Labrador, and have been checked by the vet, inoculated and dewormed. Cost is R1300.00 R1000.00 each and we have one Male and five Females. Please email or message me or Jess for details, thanks. To collect in Waterfall, Kwa-Zulu Natal. 🙂

The long version…
We have six, adorable, cute, happy, playful seven eight week old puppies, that I have fallen in love with, despite trying my best not to… because now we have to find homes for them, and it’s so heart breaking to say good-bye.
I want to sell them because puppies are an expensive experience… during the past few weeks, our grocery bill for pet food and the vet have far out surpassed our human food bill and medical costs, *Smile* …and there are still more vet costs, as we definitely have to have the mom spayed now, as one batch of puppies in a lifetime is plenty… for me and the dog.
I don’t want to make the puppies too expensive… as then they won’t sell, neither do I want to give them away “free to good homes” …as the last time we tried that with mom, before we knew she was pregnant, we received a barrage of comments on facebook about taking responsibility and ensuring she would go to a good home… and that we had to do property checks and make sure whomever took her wasn’t going to use her for dog fights.
Since that was such a negative experience, we deleted the facebook posts, and although we did try and find her a good home, two weeks after we realised she was pregnant, and seven eight weeks ago she had the puppies.
It has been a wonderful experience to watch Jess care and love and nurture these gorgeous tiny creatures. Despite my help, the puppies have been really hard work, and so time consuming, and we would love to keep them. Watch them grow and enjoy theme while they are so cute and fluffy and gaining their independence. However, all puppies grow up… and although mom is a smallish German Shepherd, dad is a large black Labrador and some of the puppies paws are already growing in size to indicate that they are going to grow much, much bigger than they are now. *Grin*
We already have three of our own dogs… and a wolf… and fostering the ‘two’ hooligan parents. Six canines still boggles my brain and frazzles my budget… and an additional six puppies, has just added to my early onset of dogmentia. *Grin*
We really do want them to go to good homes, and to families that will love and care for them, even more than we do… (although, I can’t believe that’s possible, except there will hopefully be more people ratio to puppy loving. J)
We may just be terrible at business, as I don’t believe we’ll make a profit… I’ll be happy just to break even. *Smile*

PS… before we got the hooligan dogs that we are fostering earlier this year, Jess wanted a puppy after her dog of 17 years passed away. Even though we decided to try and find a puppy from the SPCA or from one of the many shelters… it proved to be a challenging and even expensive experience and definitely not free… as we paid more than a R1200.00 for the two puppies that we adopted, and it turned out when we took them to the vet to be fixed, that we were also lied to… as the one puppy was supposedly four months old, and was actually more than a year old when we took him to the vet to be fixed… and the other puppy, who was supposedly three months old, must have been much older, as according to the vet, she was much older than a year when she went to be fixed.
Because of these experiences, we have come to realise that there are actually many unscrupulous and dishonest people involved in the dog pet industry and even in the ‘rescued animal’ shelters… and it is definitely not our intent to be anything but honest with anyone who is interested in these gorgeous puppies. *Smile*
They are cute and cuddly and we love them, and we are endeavouring to ensure they go to loving homes to people who will love them too.
